Londonas maratonam piesakās pusmiljons dalībnieku. Taču limits ir 10% no visiem gribētājiem. Tāpēc tiek rīkota izloze. Rīgas maratons tikai sāk iezīmēt sevi pasaules maratonu kartē ar Zelta zīmi un piesaistīt ārvalstu skrējējus. Veidojot kampaņu, “uzsēdāmies uz astes” lielākajam maratonam. Dienā, kad Londonas maratons sāka izsūtīt 450 000 atteikuma vēstules, palaidām FB ziņu vislabākajās britu tradīcijās: Keep calm and run in Riga. Posts sasniedza 228,568 lietotāju, no kuriem 4,102 iegāja mājaslapā. Lai gan tas nebija mērķis, postam bija nozīmīga iesaiste, kas papildus ģenerēja "organic reach". Kampaņas laikā par 359% pieauga unikālo apmeklētāju skaits un lapas skatījumu skaits pieauga par 181%, salīdzinot ar to pašu periodu iepriekšējā gadā. Vairāk nekā 500 ārzemnieku reģistrējās Rimi Rīgas maratonam 2020 (līdz 31. decembrim, salīdzinot ar pagājušo gadu). Prognozējam, ka līdz maijam reģistrēsies 6000 ārvalstu skrējēji (iepriekš 4600).

When creating a campaign, we “rode the coattails” of the largest marathon. During the campaign period, unique visitors to the website grew by 359%, and page views increased by 181% compared with the same period last year. Over 500 additional international runners registered for the 2020 Riga Marathon (before 31 December compared with the previous year).
