Izstāde “2020: mūžības perspektīva” ir neierasts skatījums uz ierastu tēmu – novecošanu. Noveco visa veida informācijas nesēji – gan drukātie, gan digitālie. Bet kas ir saglabāšanas vērts?
“2020: Mūžības perspektīva” ir pirmais gadījums, kad, pēc LNB izstāžu komandas uzaicinājuma, nacionālas nozīmes krājumu interpretē mākslinieki. Izstādes nosaukums ir tieša atsauce uz bibliotēkas sarežģīto uzdevumu krājumu glabāt mūžīgi, bet gadskaitlis 2020 norāda uz to, ka visi izstādes eksponāti ir no 2020. gada.
Insekti, grauzēji, biodegradācija un mehānisks nodilums ir tikai daži no krājumam bīstamiem faktoriem. Sadarbojoties bibliotēkas izstāžu komandai, tekstgrupai “Orbīta”, restauratoriem un materiālu tehnologiem ir strauji novecināti 2020. gada priekšmeti, tajā skaitā izstādes identitātē izmantotās sietspiedes, piedāvājot iespēju atskatīties uz mūsdienām no mūžības perspektīvas.
The 2020: A Perspective On Eternity exhibition provides an unusual take on the mundane topic of aging. All types of media, both print and digital, get old. But what is worth preserving?
2020: A Perspective On Eternity marks the first occasion that the library’s exhibition team invited artists to put their spin on a collection of national importance. The title of the exhibition is a reference to the library’s difficult task of preserving the collection forever and the number 2020 indicates that all exhibits are from the year 2020.
Insects, rodents, biodegradation and mechanical wear are just some of the factors which endanger the collection. The library’s exhibition team and the Orbīta group of wordsmiths collaborated with restorers and materials technologists to hastily age collection of items from 2020, including screen prints used in the exhibition’s visual identity. Visitors can therefore look back on today from an eternal perspective.
